About Gene Watson's 'Gene Watson: 16 Super Hits'...
Album Overview
'Gusto Records is a Nashville-based record company which specialises in re-issuing and licensing recordings from its vast catalogue of music from acquired record labels and their own studio recordings.
In 2005, Gusto Records acquired the back catalogue of Step One Records, an independent record label which had operated out of Nashville between 1984 and 1997; Step One Records was founded by Ray Pennington and Curtis Potter (Thursday 16 April 1940 - Saturday 23 January 2016).
Gene Watson's 'Gene Watson: 16 Super Hits' (Gusto Records, 2009) contains some very fine material from Gene Watson's time with Step One Records in the mid-to-late 1990s; one track has also been included from Gene Watson's time with Broadland International Records / Mercury Records Canada in 1992'.
