Gene Watson's Peers: Quote from Michael Pyle: May 2019

Gene Watson's Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as 'the singer's singer' - and rightly so!

All of Gene Watson's Peers, who were contacted by The Gene Watson Fan Site, during 2019, were most gracious with their time and words.

It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Michael Pyle, which he submitted to this site on Thursday 2 May 2019.

Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say 'thank you' to Michael Pyle who has made a special contribution to a unique part of this online 'celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.

Michael Pyle

Michael Pyle
This quote was submitted on Thursday 2 May 2019.

'A lot of people go though life never realizing their true potential.

It's really gratifying when you see (or hear) someone doing something that you know that they were put on the planet to do.

Gene is absolutely one of those people.

He's just special.  I don't really know anyone that thinks differently.

He has always held the highest respect from everyone in every facet of the music business.

I'm sure others have said this, but he's just a singer's singer.

Pitch, tone, resonance, interpretation, it's all there.

We're all better for having Gene's voice and songs as a part of the soundtrack of our lives'

Thank you, Michael Pyle, for your support of Gene Watson.

About Michael Pyle...

Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019) and Michael Pyle

Michael Pyle

Michael Pyle
was born, on Friday 5 May 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in the noted musical town of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

As a performer, Michael Pyle has toured with many national acts and also as a solo artist.

In the early 1980s, Michael Pyle lived in Eagle and worked for KSKI, Eagle County's country music radio station.

Michael Pyle also joined the local band Airborn.

In 1989, after an extremely successful five year run with Airborn, Michael Pyle followed his musical dreams back to Nashville.

Michael Pyle spent most of the 1990s on the road with Carlene Carter, Mac McAnally and Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019), to name but a few.

During this decade, Michael Pyle did no fewer than 250 shows every year in some of the biggest venues in the world.  This period of time was instrumental in exposing Michael Pyle to some of Nashville's most important songwriters and publishers.

As a songwriter, Michael Pyle has had songs recorded by a number of artists, including Blake Shelton, Lee Ann Womack, Collin Raye, Mark Wills and Billy Dean.

Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019)

Michael Pyle also worked for twenty-five years, on the road, as a guitarist, with acclaimed country music artist Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019).

In the late 1990s, along with longtime friend and business partner Wendy Sachs, Michael Pyle formed Castle Peak Entertainment.

In 2001, Castle Peak Entertainment saw enormous success when country music star Blake Shelton recorded 'All Over Me', which was written by Michael Pyle, Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019) and Blake Shelton, enjoyed five consecutive weeks as a Billboard Top 10 single in 2001.

Blake Shelton: 'Blake Shelton' (Warner Bros. Records, 2001)

Blake Shelton recorded Michael Pyle's 'All Over Me', which was co-written with Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019) and Blake Shelton, and included the track on 'Blake Shelton' (Warner Bros. Records, 2001); the track, which reached No.18 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart in 2001, was written at Earl Thomas Conley's house in 1999.

Blake Shelton was introduced to Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019) by good friend Michael Pyle, who was playing in Earl Thomas Conley's band at the time.

Blake Shelton has long considered Earl Thomas Conley (Friday 17 October 1941 - Wednesday 10 April 2019) his all time musical hero.
