Gene Watson Peer's Quote from Jody Nix: January 2011

Gene Watson's Peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as 'the singer's singer' - and rightly so!

All of Gene Watson's Peers, who were contacted during 2011, were most gracious with their time and words.

It is here, within this special part of The Gene Watson Fan Site, that you have an opportunity to read a quote from Jody Nix, which he submitted to this site on Saturday 29 January 2011.

Sean Brady would like to take this opportunity to say 'thank you' to Jody Nix who made a special contribution to this unique part of this online 'celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.

Gene Watson: 'Love in the Hot Afternoon' (Capitol Records, 1975)

'I first heard of Gene Watson along about 1975, when 'Love in the Hot Afternoon' (Capitol Records, 1975) was released.  I became a fan right then and have been for a long time.

I think Gene is one of the best singers in the business.  I have seen him many times in concert, even booked him twice at Howard County Fair here in Big Spring, Texas where I live.

I am honoured to call him my friend and I wish him many more years of giving us great music'

Thank you, Jody Nix, for your support of Gene Watson.

About Jody Nix...

Jody Nix

Jody Nix, who was born in 1952, 'grew up' in music; he started playing drums in his Father Hoyle Nix's band when he was eight years old, in 1960, playing five nights a week all over West Texas.
