On Wednesday 9 September 2009, Gene Watson & Rhonda Vincent participated in the taping of a promotional video for 'Staying together', the premier single from 'A Taste of the Truth', Gene Watson's new album on Shanachie Records which was released on Tuesday 25 August 2009.

The promotional video was directed by Stephen Shepherd, a director who has also worked on videos for many well known artists including Gary Allan, Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack & Chris Young.

On Thursday 29 October 2009, the Gene Watson Fan Site was proud to announce that Gene Watson & Rhonda Vincent's video for 'Staying together', the premier single from 'A Taste of the Truth', Gene Watson's new album on Shanachie Records (released on Tuesday 25 August 2009) was premiered on CMT.

It’s a weeper about a couple who stay together although the spark is long gone.  Gene & Rhonda harmonise sublimely.  The mournful, moaning steel & honky-tonk piano underline every heartache.

The track is drawn from 'A Taste of the Truth', which stars one of our greatest country vocalists alongside stellar guests such as Alison Krauss, Trace Adkins, Aubrey Haynie, Sonny Garrish & John Wesley Ryles, as well as Rhonda.

On Thursday 22 October 2009, it was announced that the 'Alan Jackson Collection', a 40-plus piece assortment of lifestyle items created in conjunction with Alan, would be available only at Cracker Barrel beginning Monday 2 November 2009.

The collection will feature men's wear & women's wear, food items, collectibles, an Alan Jackson Signature Rocker & other exclusive items including a CD;  'Songs of Love & Heartache' will include two previously unreleased songs, 'That's what I'd be like without you' & 'Nothing sure looked good on you' plus ten other songs, including such hits as 'Here in the real world', 'Livin' on love' & 'Remember when'.



Gene Watson originally recorded 'Nothing sure looked good on you' & included the track on 'Should I Come Home' (Capitol Records, 1979).



This is not the first time that Alan Jackson has recorded a song previously included on a Gene Watson album.  Alan recorded 'Farewell party' & included the track on 'Under the Influence' (Arista Nashville Records, 1999); the original version of 'Farewell party' can be found on Gene Watson's 'Reflections' (Capitol Records, 1978).

The collection will feature men's wear & women's wear, food items, collectibles, an Alan Jackson Signature Rocker & other exclusive items including a CD;  'Songs of Love & Heartache' will include two previously unreleased songs, 'That's what I'd be like without you' & 'Nothing sure looked good on you' plus ten other songs, including such hits as 'Here in the real world', 'Livin' on love' & 'Remember when'.



Gene Watson originally recorded 'Nothing sure looked good on you' & included the track on 'Should I Come Home' (Capitol Records, 1979).
