Fan Site became aware of the following link which will be of great interest
to Gene Watson's army of fans.

Grant Alden, editor of the highly respected
No Depression magazine recently
listed his Top 20 for 2007 and, while Gene Watson didn't actually get listed in the
Top 20, Grant does state that he would have liked to have added Gene if he
had been allowed more space to do so.

Today, it is with deep sadness that the Gene Watson Fan Site
announced the
passing (on Tuesday 6 November 2007) of Country Music Hall of Fame member
Hank Thompson, at his home near Fort Worth in Texas, following a battle with
lung cancer.
The 82-year old singer, songwriter & bandleader had,
the previous week, cancelled all of
his tour dates after being hospitalised.

Hank Thompson played his last concert on Monday 8 October 2007 in his native
Waco, Texas when Hank Thompson Day was declared by Texas Governor Rick Perry
& Waco Mayor Virginia DuPuy.
According to his official website, a celebration of
Hank Thompson's life
would take place on Wednesday 14 November 2007 at Billy Bob's, the famed
nightspot in Fort Worth, Texas.

a track from his acclaimed 'In a
Perfect World' album on
Shanachie Records,
was one of the featured tracks on the November 2007 issue of
Hotdisc, a country music promotional service.

Gene Watson's 'I buried our love' was the first track released as a single
from the 'In a
Perfect World' album - the single was released to American
country music on Monday 20 August 2007, while the album itself was
officially released worldwide on Tuesday 25 September 2007.
Hotdisc is a country music promotional service
& is a monthly compilation disc
of country music tracks which is distributed to over 800 accredited country
music radio presenters in Europe & Australia.

Today, the funeral service of Porter Wagoner took place at 11.00am
(CST)
at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House & was followed by interment at Woodlawn
Cemetery.

Porter Wagoner, a Grand Ole Opry institution & member of the Country Music
Hall of Fame, passed away at 8.25pm at Alive Hospice in Nashville on Sunday
28 October 2007.
Known as the Thin Man form West Plains, he was 80 years old & had been
hospitalised since Monday 15 October 2007. An Opry spokesperson announced on
Sunday 21 October 2007 that Porter had been diagnosed with lung cancer. He
was released to hospice care on Friday 26 October 2007.
An Opry star since 1957, the well-loved Porter Wagoner Had been the show's
goodwill ambassador for many years & was photographed by fans millions of
times as he clowned onstage in the flashy rhinestone suits that became one
of his trademarks.
