had been selected.

Courtesy of London-based Hux Records,
the Gene Watson Fan Site had 2
copies
(each) to give away of the special Gene Watson re-issue (2-on-1) albums
'Love in the Hot Afternoon/Paper Rosie' (Hux

Me/Beautiful Country' (Hux Records, 2005), in a special online competition

The Gene Watson Fan Site had posed the question: who wrote the Gene Watson songs
'Where love begins', 'If the shoe fits, wear it', 'How good a bad woman
feels' & 'Hey Louella' and, of course, the answer was the great
Ray Griff.

It was in June 2008 that it was announced that Ray Griff was suffering from
throat cancer & that he would be undergoing chemotherapy;
Sean Brady wished Ray, his
wife Trudy & family all his best wishes
in June 2008.
Ray Griff was the first person to contribute a quote about Gene Watson for
the special 'Peers' section of the Gene Watson
Fan Site, hence the reason for posing a Ray Griff-related question for the competition.
When contacted by Sean Brady at the
Gene Watson Fan Site for inclusion in the 'Peers'
section of the site, Ray Griff graciously submitted a quote about Gene
Watson on Monday 6 September 2004 & you can read
Ray's words about Gene
Watson here.

The 4 lucky winners were selected by Brian O'Reilly at
Hux Records
in London on Friday 4 July 2008 & you can read the full list
here.
