Caribbean on the Carnival Cruise Ship Valor with its
Opry Country Classics Cruise
between Sunday 24 January &

entertained during the cruise alongside fellow Opry stars Jim Ed
Brown & Jeannie Seely,
plus country legend
Gene
Watson and special guest Chuck Mead.
Classic country fans experienced private shows by the artists performing
their own hits in addition to all-time country classics throughout the week.
Additional musical fun onboard included classic country karaoke with
celebrity judges, screenings of classic country television performances, an
exclusive cocktail party & a classic country storytelling session in which
the entertainers on board answered fan questions & shared their favourite
stories from their collective years in the music business.

Gene Watson & Jim Ed Brown performed together onboard the Carnival Cruise
Ship Valor; Gene closed the show & both artists deservedly received a
standing ovation.
Saturday 30 January 2010
Gene Watson, Larry Gatlin, Jim Ed Brown and Dawn & Kenny Sears all held 'meet & greet'
sessions with fans on board the Carnival Cruise Ship Valor.
The 'meet & greet' sessions took place between 10.00am & 2.00pm & then from
5.30pm until 7.00pm, during which times all the artists sat on stage &
answered questions from the fans as well as singing a few songs.
Gene sang 'Farewell party' (for
which he received a standing ovation); later he sang 'Bitter
they are, harder they fall' with Larry Gatlin (who composed the song)
singing background vocals as well as playing guitar.

Today, Gene Watson was in Nashville
& participated in the taping of the latest Country Family Reunion show; Gene
performed 'Paper Rosie' from 'Paper Rosie'
(Capitol Records, 1977).
On Wednesday 20 January 2010, as part of the taping of the latest Country
Family Reunion show,
Gene performed 'Nothing sure looked good on you' (a
track originally included on 'Should I Come Home'
for Capitol Records in 1979).
Later in the day, accompanied by Dirk Johnson
on piano, Gene &
Rhonda Vincent performed 'Staying together', the highly
acclaimed duet from Gene Watson's 'A Taste of the
Truth' (Shanachie Records, 2009).

Wednesday 20
Today, Gene Watson is in Nashville
and, as at 2.40pm CST (8.40pm UK/Ireland),
was participating in the taping of the latest Country Family Reunion show.
Gene is sounding wonderful & just sang 'Nothing sure looked good on you' (a
track originally included on 'Should I Come Home'
for Capitol Records in 1979).
Later in the day, accompanied by Dirk Johnson
on piano, Gene &
Rhonda Vincent performed 'Staying together', the highly
acclaimed duet from Gene Watson's 'A Taste of the
Truth' (Shanachie Records, 2009).

Wednesday 20
On Monday 18 January 2010, Gene Watson taped the TV show
for the Songwriters' Reunion show. Unfortunately Dallas Frazier had to cancel due to
a death in the family, but Gene was still requested to come along & perform
'Fourteen carat mind' (written by Dallas Frazier & the late Larry Lee), so
that Dallas could be represented.
Jimmy Capps & Vince Gill played guitar & several folks sang backup within
the songwriter crowd. The sounded was wonderful & someone in the
audience was heard to exclaim that 'Gene was a songwriter's best friend.
On Tuesday 19 January 2010, Gene rehearsed with the band which is being
utilised for the Opry Cruise, which is taking place next week. The
sound was lovely, with Dawn Sears, who is a superb singer, singing
background vocals. Dawn & Gene will sing Buck Owens' classic 'Together
again' on the cruise. Dawn's husband, Kenny Sears, will be playing
fiddle & acoustic guitar.

Lytle Management in Nashville.
Gene informed Sarah that he was well & looking forward to coming to
Nashville to participate in the taping of the next Country Family Reunion

On Monday 18 January 2010, Gene Watson taped the TV show
for the Songwriters' Reunion show. Unfortunately Dallas Frazier had to cancel due to
