The taping of 'Country's Family Reunion' took place in Nashville on Tuesday
22 January 2008, Wednesday 23 January
2008 & Thursday 24 January 2008.

On Wednesday 23 January 2008, the taping of 'Country's Family Reunion'
was a light-hearted affair at which Gene sang everyone's favourite 'Farewell
party'. Gene received a standing ovation and, following his performance of
this classic song, several of his fellow artists stated that they never want
to follow Gene Watson!
Some of the guests who participated in the taping of 'Country's Family
Reunion' on Wednesday 23 January

At the close of the taping of 'Country's
Family Reunion' on Wednesday 23 January
2008, Larry Gatlin made an impromptu request to have Gene
Watson step up
& sing 'Bitter they are, harder they fall'.

'Bitter they are, harder they fall' was written by Larry Gatlin & was
originally included on (Larry's debut album) 'The Pilgrim'
(Monument Records, 1974). The album,
which includes
liner notes written by Johnny Cash
(26 February 1932 - 12 September 2003) was later
re-released (Columbia Records,
1980).

Gene Watson recorded 'Bitter they are, harder they fall' & included the
track on 'Because You Believed in Me'
(Capitol Records, 1976).
Gabriel Communications was started in 1996; owned & operated by long-time
disc jockey Larry Black, the company specialises in 'Reunion Videos'. Larry
first applied the 'Reunion Video' concept to the legends of country music.
The idea behind 'Country's Family Reunion'
was simple: ask the great people
who shaped country music to get together & talk about their history & sing a
few songs.
It has not been confirmed as yet when this recording of 'Country's Family
Reunion' featuring Gene Watson will be available for sale, but details will
be posted on the Gene Watson Fan Site & the Official Gene Watson Site as
soon as they become available.
