Today, Sean Brady received photos which were taken during the Truckin' Bozo XM Radio Cruise, a cruise that took place between Saturday 13 January & Saturday 20 January 2007 & was organised by SS Cruises.

The Cruise was an Eastern Caribbean one (the first stop was San Juan, Puerto Rico then St Thomas & St Maarten). It was a seven-day cruise. Gene & the Farewell Party Band performed on Friday 19 January 2007.

The opening act was Carl Dobkins Junior, a major rock 'n' roll star from the 1960s, who enjoyed a number of hit songs on the Billboard (pop) music singles chart.

Gene was the headliner & he performed a great number of requested songs including 'Carmen', 'Paper Rosie', 'Farewell party' & 'Fourteen carat mind'.

The show was a 75-minute performance & the fans gave Gene & the Farewell Party Band a standing ovation at the end of the show. The audience begged Gene for an encore. When they all returned to the stage, Gene performed 'Should I come home (or should I go crazy)'.

As a result of Gene's outstanding performance, the tour operator is already being bombarded with requests to have Gene & the Farewell Party Band on another cruise very soon.

You can view a selection of photos taken during the course of the cruise here.

Today, Gene Watson informed Sean Brady that, in order to secure his deal with Warner Brothers Records in 1988, he & Lib Hatcher recorded a four-song demo tape. He could, however, only remember the titles of three of these tracks; 'Reasons I cheat', 'The strength to lose control' & 'A fallen star'.

Randy Travis: 'Storms of Life' (Warner Bros. Records, 1986)

The track, 'Reasons I cheat', was written by Randy Travis & was included on his debut album. 'Storms of Life' was released on Warner Bros. Records (9 25435 2) in 1986. The album went on to spend 12 weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Country Music Album Chart & eventually sold 4 million copies.

Gene Watson: 'Back to the Fire' (Warner Bros. Records, 1988)

To complete the Randy Travis connection, Gene Watson recorded 'The great divide' (co-written by John Lindley & Randy Travis) & included the track on 'Back in the Fire' (Warner Bros. Records, 1988).
