Today, Gene Watson was interviewed (shortly after 2.00pm CST) by Christy
Storey at radio station KOYN in Paris, Texas; Christy's weekday show
aired between 10.00am & 3.00pm (CST).

It was at this time that KOYN added Gene Watson's new single 'I buried our love' to their play-list.
The single was shipped to radio stations worldwide on Monday 20 August 2007
& was a cut from Gene Watson's new
Shanachie Records album 'In
a Perfect World' which was going to be released
on Tuesday 25 September 2007.
Following his appearance on KOYN, Gene Watson graced the main stage at
the Red River Valley Fair in Paris, Lamar County,
Texas at 8.00pm (CST).

Country Startpage website, which was based in The Netherlands,
offered
artists the possibility to promote their albums. In order to obtain free
promotion, all artists had to do
was send a copy of their latest album to
The Country Startpage & it would be featured on the site under the banner 'We
Proudly Promote'.

Shanachie Records sent a copy of Gene Watson's 'In a Perfect World' to
Johan at The Country Startpage & he featured the album on
his home
page (under the banner 'We Proudly Promote'), with the album cover, a link
to the Gene Watson Fan Site, a link to buy the album & some kind words.

This planned trip was undertaken so that Gene Watson
could take part in a special
photo shoot for No Depression, a magazine that
covered all aspects of the alt-country music
scene. The photo shoot was scheduled to take place at 4.00pm on the
afternoon of Tuesday 28 August 2007.

No Depression
were planning a major feature on Gene Watson which
would be
included in a future edition of the magazine. The
No Depression photographer
for the Gene Watson photo shoot in Minneapolis, MN was
expected to be Darin Back.

announced that Gene Watson took

for U105.
U105 was the independent local radio service for the Belfast area &
broadcast on 105.8 FM.

on Monday 27
August 2007 on U105, just after the 8.00pm (UK

Today, the Gene Watson Fan
Site exclusively announced that Gene Watson
had been invited
to participate in a taping of Country's Family Reunion.

The recording was expected to take place in Nashville between Tuesday 22 January 2008 &
Thursday 24 January 2008.
Gabriel Communications was started in 1996; owned & operated by long-time
disc jockey Larry Black, the company specialises in 'Reunion Videos'. Larry
first applied the 'Reunion Video' concept to the legends of country music.
The idea was simple: ask the great people who shaped country music to get
together & talk about their history & sing a few songs; hence Gene Watson
had been asked to take part in January 2008.

Today, the Gene Watson Fan
Site exclusively announced that Gene Watson &
the Farewell
Party Band & Country Music Hall of Fame member Little Jimmy Dickens
would participate in a Grand Ole Opry spectacular at
the Llano Opry in Llano,
Texas on Saturday 12 January 2008.
There would be two show performances; the first
would be at 2.30pm & the
second would be at 7.30pm. Tickets for this special event
were priced at
$20.00 each.
Little Jimmy Dickens recorded 'Farewell party' & included the track as the
B-side of his 'Talking to the wall' 45rpm single (catalogue number: 4-42013)
which was released in May 1961.

Gene Watson recorded what many consider to be the definitive version of
Lawton Williams' 'Farewell party' & included the cut on 'Reflections'
(Capitol Records, 1978).

Today, the Gene Watson Fan Site officially
confirmed that Gene would
be a
special guest on the Eddie Stubbs' radio show on WSM. The show, 'An Intimate
Evening with Eddie Stubbs', would be broadcast 'live' from the Country Music
Hall of Fame on Wednesday 12 September 2007 from 7.00-9.00pm (CST).

During the course of the show, Rhonda Vincent would
be performing the Buck
Owens' classic 'Together Again' (as featured on Gene
Watson's new album 'In a
Perfect World') with Gene, along with producer
Brent Rowan playing guitar.
Gene Watson was expected to have copies of 'In a
Perfect World', his new album on Shanachie
Records, available for sale on that evening only (as a special event
promotion).

Today, Gene Watson took part in an interview with Jolene Downes, a staff
writer for the About Country website.
Gene Watson was delighted to learn that Jolene was such a fan of his music & to hear
that she had attended a number of his performances.
Jolene, in an email to the Gene Watson
Fan Site, stated that she had found the
site to be very helpful in preparing for her interview with Gene on
the morning of Thursday 23
August 2007.
Jolene also stated that, as with many of the classic country music
artists, Gene Watson's presence online prior to the site had not been strong
& that it was now interesting to dig up current news about Gene.

Belfast's Downtown Radio between 7.00pm & 7.30pm UK/Irish time.


Gene reflected on various aspects of his life & musical career & informed
Trevor that he was looking forward to his tour of Ireland in October 2007

Trevor had not received his promo copy of Gene Watson's new album, 'In a Perfect
World', at the time of the interview, but thanks to the wonders of
technology, he was able to 'play' 'Don't you ever get tired of

Dubbed 'The Dean of Nashville's music writers, Robert is a multimedia figure

magazine, a weekly columnist for the trade publication 'Music Row' & has

In June 2007, the Gene Watson Fan Site announced that Gene Watson would appear
as a special guest on 'Ralph Emery - Live' on Monday 10 September 2007, a
show that would be carried on RFD-TV.
However, Gene Watson's appearance date
had now been changed to Monday 17
September 2007. 'Ralph Emery - Live' would be broadcast at 6.00pm
(CST) - there
would not be a 'live' audience, but there
would be an opportunity
for fans to call in live with questions for Gene.
RFD-TV, which was launched in December 2000, was the USA's first 24-hour
television network dedicated to serving the needs & interests of rural
America.
RFD-TV was produced & up-linked via satellite to all fifty states from Northstar Studios in Nashville. The channel
was proudly distributed & carried
by DISH Network, DIRECTV, Mediacom, Charter, NRTC, Bresnan & NCTC cable
systems, with new cable systems adding the channel most everyday.
RFD-TV programming was divided into the following program blocks; 'Horses on
RFD-TV', 'Rural/Agricultural News', 'Rural Lifestyle', 'Traditional & Ethnic
Music', 'Rural Youth' & 'Video Livestock Auctions'.

Under its program banner of 'Traditional & Ethnic Music', RFD-TV broadcasts
bluegrass, gospel, polka & traditional country music, along with original
music specials from venues around the USA.

Farewell Party Band would perform at The Wheel, 421 Broadway in downtown
Nashville on Friday 14 September 2007.
The Wheel was a small club &
could only accommodate one
hundred
people; as a consequence, seating was limited. This Gene Watson performance
was expected to be a very special & intimate show for which tickets
were
priced at $35.00 each.
