The Gene Watson Site | NewsGene Watson & his acclaimed Farewell Party Band will undertake a 13-date tour of Ireland (Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland) between Wednesday 3 October 2007 & Thursday 18 October 2007.

The tour will include dates in Castlebar, Killarney, Limerick, Belfast, Cookstown, Enniskillen, Armagh, Omagh, Castleblayney, Letterkenny, Ballymena & Dublin, so if you have an opportunity to do so, please come along to one of the venues & see country music as it should be performed.

Gene Watson is widely respected around the world for his traditional take on country music, no more so than in Ireland.

Gene Watson | Shanachie RecordsToday, Gene Watson signed a recording contract with Shanachie Records.  The label, which was founded in 1975 by Richard Nevins & Dan Collins, is one of the largest independent record labels in the world.

Shanachie Records specialises in fiddle music, Latin American, African music, soul, ska, jazz, blues and, of course, country music.

The label is named after the Irish word for 'story teller'.

Gene Watson's first album for Shanachie Records, which will contain 11 tracks, 3 of which will be 'covers', is expected to be released in the fall of 2007.  A title for the album has not been decided upon as yet.

Gene Watson & Marty Stuart | The Nashville Palace | Friday 6 April 2007Gene Watson has been selected as one of the subjects for inclusion within Marty Stuart's second book of photographs.  Marty is known as one of the most diverse talents in country music, but people may not know that photography is a passion of his as well.  Marty published his first book of photographs & essays, 'Pilgrims: Sinners, Saints & Prophets' in 1999.

Marty Stuart's second book of photographs will be titled 'Country Music: The Masters' & will contain portraits of legendary country artists, along with photos of people, places & things associated with them.
