Mike Headrick (November 2007)

Mike Headrick, along with his wife Terri, owns & operates Country Discovery Records, Mikron Recording & Sand Mountain Music from a base in south Pittsburg in Tennessee.  Mike produces all the records on the Country Discovery Records label & plays various instruments on most of them.

In 1976, Mike established Tunesmith Music & Mikron Recording and, although he is known primarily for his pedal steel guitar playing, Mike is also proficient on eight other instruments as well.

Mike Headrick is also a prolific songwriter & has had  a number of his compositions recorded by an array of artists; he has also won numerous awards for his production work, songwriting & instrumental skills.

The Country Discovery Records label has also won various 'Independent Label of the Year' on a number of occasions & is renowned for its stand on keeping real country music alive & bringing authentic, meaningful country music back to the forefront of the genre.

Through the years, Mike Headrick has recorded, produced or played music with a number of country music artists including Louise Mandrell, Jerry Lee Lewis, Don King, Charlie Louvin, Ernie Ashworth, Billy Walker, Marsha Britton, Earl Thomas Conley, Narvel Felts, Benny Berry, Billy Joe Royal, Leona Williams, Jacob Lyda, Carlene Carter, Jeannie Seely, Shane Worley, Keith Harling, SheDaisy, Eric Heatherly, Tony Martin, Lawrence Reynolds & Ferlin Husky.
