Here stands an open bottle
Here stands an empty glass
My new best friends consoles me
And forgive me for my past
We all join here together to pay our last respects to a love I couldn't keep
alive
And now I can't forget
Born in nineteen eighty-five inside her heart & mine
Taken from this world too soon
It died before it's time
Gone but not forgotten
The memories linger on
Are the words that should be carved upon the face of love's tombstone
They ought to build a monument for the whole wide world to see
A testament to what we had & how much she meant to me
Place an empty barstool high above the mirrored glass
And inscribe for all eternity this final epitaph
Born in nineteen eighty-five inside her heart & mine
Taken from this world too soon
It died before it's time
Gone but not forgotten
The memories linger on
Are the words that should be carved upon the face of love's tombstone
The words that should be carved upon the face of love's tombstone
