Lane Brody (November 2006)
Gene Watson's peers within the country music industry believe in the sheer talent of this unassuming man from east
Texas, so much so that Gene is regarded by many of them as
'the singer's singer' - and rightly so!
All of Gene's Peers who were contacted in 2006 were most gracious with
their time & words. It is here, within this special
part of gene-watson.com, that you have an opportunity to
read Lane
Brody's quote, which
she submitted to this site on Saturday 11 November 2006.
I (Sean Brady)
would like to take this opportunity to say 'thank you' to
Lane Brody who has made a special contribution to a unique part
of this online 'celebration of a Lone Star Hero'.

'I
have had the privilege of working with
Gene. It has always been a great
pleasure. Gene is so talented & so
humble that you can feel God with him &
I must also say he is truly a gentleman.
He will always be one of the great
recognisable voices of country music
with a soul that delivers timeless
performances. I love you, Gene'.
Thank you,
Lane Brody, for your support of Gene Watson.

is a native of Racine, Wisconsin where her love of
singing was established at a very early age.

In 1976, she made her recording debut with the

which was featured in Bruce Bereford's film 'Tender
Mercies' starring Robert Duvall; the song reached
No.15 on the charts. Lane enjoyed a No.1 hit
with her 1984 duet with Johnny Lee, 'The yellow
rose' (No.1 for week in April 1984).
Lane's self-titled debut album was released in 1985

Springfield's 'He burns me up'. In 1996, Lane
