The 'Heartaches, Love & Stuff' album doesn't just have the distinction of including two of Gene's biggest hit songs.  The album also has the distinction of being the second Gene Watson release to feature members of his acclaimed Farewell Party Band on record, thus affording listeners the opportunity to hear this authentic group of musicians - in a studio setting - recreating a concert sound.

Keith Palmer: 'Keith Palmer' | Epic Records (1991)'One hell of a heartache' (track indicated thus ) was written by Keith Palmer (RIP) & J. White.

Keith Palmer also recorded 'I picked a San Antonio rose' & included the track on his self-titled debut album, which was released on Epic Records (EK 48611) in 1991.

Gene Watson too recorded 'I picked a San Antone rose'; it was included as the 'b' side of his 'Don't waste it on the blues' 45rpm vinyl single, which was released on Warner Bros. Records (27692) in 1989.

'Back in the Fire' | Warner Bros. Records (1988) Please note: Gene's rendition of 'I picked a San Antone rose' was not included on the 'Back in the Fire' album, which was released on Warner Bros. Records in 1988.

Sadly, Keith Palmer passed away on 13 June 1992 at the age of thirty-eight.
