Overview
'Gene Watson: Gospel at its Best' was released on
Gusto Records and was an album
project that Gene had been wishing to undertake for some time - a country
music collection made up entirely of religious material.
The recording of the album was very much a family affair; six of the 10
featured tracks were written by Gene’s cousin Bobbie Bost, while his
sisters Virginia Ruth Watson Thompson & Mary Lois Watson Templeton, provided
wonderful harmony vocals.
'Gene Watson: Gospel at its
Best' was produced by Ray Pennington.
The A&R was undertaken by Todd Mooring.
The Recording Engineer was Kevin McManus.
'Gene Watson: Gospel at its Best' was recorded at the Oak Valley Sound Studio,
Nashville.
