The show was taped in Nashville on Wednesday 22 July 2009 & was originally
broadcast on RFD-TV (in the United States) on Thursday 15 October 2009 & Saturday 17 October 2009.
Gene Watson will sing acoustically, with Jimmy Capps on guitar, & will
perform 'Take
me as I am (or let me go)', 'Fourteen carat mind', 'Rambling Rose' & part of 'Farewell
party'.

'Pop Goes The Country' was produced in Nashville & was aired on American
television between 1974 & 1982; Ralph Emery acted as the host of the series
for the first six years (1974-1980) & was followed by Tom T. Hall for the

Network 'Listener Choice Award' for 'Legend of the Year'. Gene beat out
other nominees George Strait, Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Junior & Randy
Travis.
Real Country Network listeners voted during the month of October 2009 as part of
the network's celebration of 'Country Music Month'.
When told of the honour, the ever humble Watson stated, 'This
made my day. It was a thrill just to be in the category with such great
artists & to win is such a compliment from the fans. I am very honoured to
accept this award'.
On Tuesday 27 October 2009, Gene Watson participated in a taped interview
with host Kris Wilson at the
Real
Country Network.

On Thursday 10 September 2009, Gene Watson participated in an
interview for the UK's highly influential & widely regarded CMP
(Country Music People) magazine.
The interview was conducted by Walt Trott at the
Nashville offices of John Lytle
Management & has been published in the November 2009 issue of the

Country Music Hall of Fame Exhibit:
On Tuesday 25 March 2008, Gene Watson donated several items to the Country
Music Hall of Fame & Museum's Frist Library & Archives; the donation took
place during a taping of GAC's 'Master Series' & was aired on the GAC (Great
American Country) television network.
The 'Gene Watson: Fourteen Carat Voice' exhibit,
which
opened in Nashville on Monday 20 October 2008, closed
on Thursday 24 September 2009 -
